Recently all clients of Roberts & Cowling would have received our Tax Audit Insurance offering in the mail. R&C for at least two years have recommended and encouraged our clients to obtain tax audit insurance. Until now, we have not had a product internal that we could provide to our clients. However, we have, inconjunction with Accountancy Insurance Brokers, created an inexpensive solution for our clients. Tax Audit insurance covers the costs associated with going through a tax audit up to $10,000. For a business, the accounting, bookkeeping and legal costs associated with an audit can add up to thousands of dollars. The ATO is committed to increasing their audit acivity and are actively pursuing audit cases at the moment. Our view is that shortly you will no longer be unlucky to receive an audit, you will be lucky not to have had one! So, in line with our recommendations from the past two years we have contacted every client and offered our new tax audit product. Please read the letter carefully. We are in no way compelling you to take up our offer. If you dont feel you require Tax Audit Insurance, please feel free to decline our offer. The attached tax invoice only becomes payable if you decide to take up the offer and you can accept the offer by paying the invoice. If you wish to decline our tax audit insurance offering at this time, we would appreciate it if you could sign the attached declaration stating same and return it to our office for our records.
