2009 Budget Summary

Labor has passed down its second budget. The government has delivered a $57.6 billion dollar deficit and it has been touted as one of the most difficult budgets in history. Unemployment has been tipped to peak at 8.5% and the government will stretch $220 billion into debt over the next few years.

They have honored their promise of tax cuts in the next financial year.

Client Seminar Invitation

Roberts & Cowling in association with Indooroopilly Money Management wish to invite you to a very special client event.

In an effort to keep you, our clients, informed and ahead of the information curve we are holding a special event where you will get access to Australia's foremost economic forecasters, Jonathan Pain.

Jonathan was one of the few economists from around the world who talked about and warned us about the impending Global Financial Crisis. As far back as 2003-04  he talked about how the U.S. property market was about to go bust in a big way, also how this would lead the U.S. contracting into a very deep recession and finally how this would flow onto the rest of the world.

Jonathan is currently the Chief Investment Strategist for HFA Asset Management.

Some of the topics of the night will be:

  • Will the stimulatory policies work and if they do, when will we see them finally have a positive effect on the economy?
  • How is Australia placed to weather the global economic storm?
  • What kind of world will our children inherit in the decades ahead?
